White Wall Cheater Slicks

Has anyone ever seen a camaro with white wall cheater slicks? Kinda like the Firestone Dragster cheater slicks. Was that kind of thing done back in the 60s or was they mostly used on the 30s and 40s cars? I am going for an old school looks with new school technology? Don't guess anyone has any pics? I know BFG are what most use (I have them currently) but I wanted to do something different from the rest?

If you look around the site you linked you'll kinda get your answer.

IMO anything short of factory stock replacments back in the day for muscle and pony cars didn't have white walls...

Re: White Wall Cheater Slicks

White wall or not... are even "cheater slicks" period correct for a camaro? I know people put slick on there cars all the time no surprise there but its more the style of slicks. Any old skoolers around here know if that was the style in the 60s? A website that sells slicks is not very unbiased.

Re: White Wall Cheater Slicks

Back in the day guys ran bias-ply L-60's or N-50's on the street. Look at tire style "B" on the page I linked above. Look at some of the Pro-Trac Bias Belted tires... http://www.jegs.com/p/Coker-Tire/Cok...35487/10002/-1

And some of these M&H Tires... http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?...mode=cat_click

Most of what I recall was full tread and very squared off sidewalls at the tread...

Hey, what do you mean "back in the day"?,LOL...I still run Bias Ply on my 69'....Mcreary street slicks in the rear and MT's "skinny's up front on 15" Centerlines...the rear is a G60.....she drives like shes on rails!....I dont drive in the rain so all is good. I am putting her back to a stock look as we speak...yes, Chev Rally rims w/ Radial tires....the good old days of street racing are gone....actually, these pics were taken a few days ago after shes been in storage for the last 8 years...hence the "back in the day" look....but i tell you what....warm up those MCreary's and the holeshots were unbelievable.
