measuring rim size

Is there a way to measure the rim width with the tire still on the rim?

Re: measuring rim size

I have a huge aluminum caliper from an old tire balancing machine that I take to swap meets with me. Have no idea where you might get one though. I got mine from a guy that was getting a new tire balancer and he didn't need the old one any more.

Re: measuring rim size

Should be easy, use a square through the hole in the center of the wheel (remove center cap) and improvise from there. You can also lay a straight edge across the lip of the wheel and improvise from there...
