Question cooper cobras???

I was wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about the cooper cobra tires, I was looking at them as a potential replacement for my 94 z28.

Great tires! If you take care of them, you'll get more treadlife out of them than what they are rated at. They are durable with a nice ride and Cooper is American company still. I recommend them highly!

Re: cooper cobras???

They are good tires for the money. Cooper has a good name. They don't advertise on TV as much as Goodyear or Firestone but IMHO they are quality tires. You can't go wrong with 'em.

Re: cooper cobras???

I bought my 97 ta in 2003 and it had them on it. They are still on it. Personally I think they are too hard. Gets a little cold and they dont stick well. A little wet, same. I like tires softer for more traction. Mine are 245-50-16 I think the stock ones are 245-55-16 right? Anyway my brother had a 98 camaro with the stock tire size and mine defiantly looked a lot better.

Re: cooper cobras???

235-55-16 are standard size tires and the 245-50-16s are the optional size. Both pretty much the same height and the 50s alittle bit wider. Not much different overall. If you're looking for overall traction, Cooper has higher performance tires like the Zeon ZHP and 2XS. I have the 2XS on the front of my car. Very nice ride and looks too!

Re: cooper cobras???

I have had a couple of sets of Cooper Cobra 245 50 ZR16 tires on my 94 Z 28 and I will buy them again. They are very good tires and I have gone through 6 sets of tires since I bought the car new. I will now continue to buy Cooper Cobras.
