F70-14: Polyglas or Speedway Wide Tread?

Hello fellas.

I have decided to purchase some Goodyear Red Lines from Kelsey and want double check to make sure I am getting the correct tires for my car.

I have a 68' SS 350 built the 3rd week of July. I was told that the Speedway Wide tread were correct for earlier build 68's with the Polyglas being correct for later built cars. Obviously mine would be considered as a later build.

Can anyone confirm this to be correct? Probably being a bit nit picky but I want the tires to be as correct as possible. Thanks in advance.

Please go over to Coker Tire and hunt up what was stock for your car back then.

My '67SS/RS had D-17/14, Firestone Wide Oval Redlines on steel rims w/ dog-knot, dog dish hubcaps as stock.

Re: F70-14: Polyglas or Speedway Wide Tread?

F70 x 14 RWL Polyglas tires were not optional on Camaro until the 1 April 1969 dealer ordering info. A 1968 Camaro could not have been built with them.

For that matter no '69 Camaro is known to have been built with Goodyear Polyglas tires.

That is correct,Goodyear Speedway wide tread and the Firestone Wide Oval is correct for your application.
It is my understanding the Polyglas tires weren't used until very late in '69.
