69 DF Coded Wheels

I'm wondering what is the real story about 1969 15x6 DF rally wheels. I have a set of four that have a code around the valve stem of K 1 9 9 6. Based on my understanding this is a 1969 wheel which was made Sept 6th of 1969.

Did early 69 Z28s come with DF wheels or would these be over the counter or service replacements?

Thanks, Jim

Re: 69 DF Coded Wheels

This quote is from the CRG :"While a promotional photo exists of a 69 Z28 with the narrower 68 15x6 DF wheels, this wheel was not used on 1969 Z28's in production. The initial 69 Z28 wheel was coded AD. The YH wheel was produced starting mid-December 68 and had minor modifications to increase clearance for the JL8 brake components. "

I hope this helps.

Re: 69 DF Coded Wheels

Those are later version (OTC) replacements of the original 67-8 DF 15x6 ralley.
There must have been quite a few made. They are the most common and least desirable of the DF coded wheels out there. There are slight diferences between them and the earlier version DF wheels.
