Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

I love my COY's... Half the price, 1 piece and different.

Got the C5's.

Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

The wives car has T thrust ll and mine has Coys. I personally think the AR is a better looking wheel and will be swapping the coys out later. I'm sure the coys are a heavier wheel also.

Eagle alloys makes a replica of the TT2 that's extremely close. If your looking for the TT2 look without spending the money I would check them out.

Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

I disagree that the TT2 are dated. IMO they are a timeless design and the popularity/price of them shows I'm not alone.

If anyone is looking for the same look without the cost the Eagles are the closest replica to the TT2. The A/R center caps will interchange with Eagles also.

Im not looking for price just a great rim. And I will have to wait 4 weeks for the 17x9.9 to get made.

If price is not issue you may want to look at www.vintagewheelworks.com or http://www.team3wheels.com/et/classic5.html . They are both "classic" 5 spoke designs that are alternatives to AR TTIIs.

Whats wrong with coy's, the center cap??? They are single piece which I would rather have any day of two piece.

Why the 9.9 over 9.5?

Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

I like both but I prefer the deep dish of the Coys to the steps on the TT's

Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

The TTII's are a much higher quality, 2 piece wheel versus the 1 piece cast Chinese wheel from Randy Coy. The price is very good for the Coy wheel. I have both, and depending on what look I want I would continue to use either. As far as "dated looks" I think they both have become somewhat dated but are still great looking. One advantage a 1 piece cast wheel has is that it can be chromed, while a 2 piece can not have both sections chromed due to discoloration. The chrome on the Coy's seems to last about 2-3 years, I have some of the very first ones from Randy and they are now starting to fade and blister. I am in the market right now for some new wheels (not Camaro) and like many of the billet 2 piece from Intro, Billet Specialties and Foose but don't care for the outrageous prices, I may try some Rocket wheels.

Re: Coy's rims VS AR TT II

I will never buy another set of chrome wheels. I had two sets of Foose wheels that started peeling within a years time. Those cars were only weekend pleasure cars and were allways clean and well cared for. Even the high end wheels like Iforged, HRE etc will eventually pit ot start peeling.

Polished wheels last forever when taken care of.

The main thing I like better about the TT2 is the shape of the spokes, the center cap is also better looking on the AR.

If anyone near me would like 18 and 20" coys with dark centers and spun lips I will trade for a set of polished 18" TT2's in good shape. I know its a long shot but ya never know. Wheels and tires are all brand new.
