Size Selection Help Please

Hiya All,

Got a '69 Camaro almost done and need some advice on wheels and tires. I've splurged and put DSE quadra link and mini tub on the rear end and DSE subframe...yes I know..i'm crazy.

Was thinking of going 18s all around with 18x8 in front and 18x10 in rear..DSE recommended 10" in front with their subframe and 12" in rear!!!

This is not a track car...more of a cruising/pro touring car. not sure if i really need 10" and 12" tires...wow.

It seems like most of you like 17"..any reason? I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Size Selection Help Please

First off, congrats on the killer set up. We set guys up with wheel/tire packages all the time with the DSE sub and quadra link. It is really worth maximizing the suspension gains you have made with tires that will hold up to the task. A 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 BFG KDW2 fits the bill. Car will handle great and look killer. Feel free to call us at the shop and we can help get you going in the right direction and answer any questions you might have.

The tall rim is growing on me if asked this a year ago I would have said 15".I say go as big as DSE says you can get without rubbing.Make sure its with four large people in the car as well. You need to find the right look I like the Billet Specialties..
I liked these saw them at the end of last year...

Re: Size Selection Help Please

Thatís a good question. I am in a similar situation as my car is almost done (for now) and it needs wheels and tires. I just donít have the DSE set up. I ordered some 17s. One because of tire cost, its cheaper and two because the rims were cheaper as well. Now a week after I placed the order I am second guessing that I should have gone with the 18s. It seems to me that the 18s fill out the wheel wells a little bit better.

Iím still interested to hear what others have to say about it. Plus it seems like everyone (mostly in magazines) is putting at least 18s on.

Good luck, Iím sure it will look killer either way.
