Wheels for 68

I have read and re-read this forum now and have came up with the following size wheels to order. I just want someone that knows this stuff to verify that they will fit before I order them.

I'm going with American Racing Torq trust CL205.

17 X 8 with 4.75 back spacing.

Will this work on a big block 68 with 1 inch lowering all around.

For tires, I am planning on using 235/45 in front and 255/45 on the rear. Does this sound OK or is there a better combination?

One more question - will the wheels from a 02 Camaro SS work on a 1st gen?

Thanks,

Bob

Re: Wheels for 68

Do yo have stock front end and brakes? When I put new wheels on my 68 it was recommended I use 17X7 with 4.25" BS in the front. I have 225/45 in the front and it is probably an inch lowered and I still get a little tire rub on the right side on the outside of the tire. I have a big brake kit from CPP which moves the wheel out 9/16" and I think that is causing the rub. Maybe the extra BS will work with 17X8 but make sure to consider other things like brakes, etc. Hope this helps a little.

Re: Wheels for 68

Given you're already going bigger in the back, why not go all out and get 17x9 with 275/40 tire. You should give Jon w/Driverz inc (sponsor on here) a call...the man know his wheels/tires.
