Wheel size emergency

I have the opportunity to score a great deal on some wheels but I want to check with everyone to make sure the sizes would fit. My car is not running and the wheels are in another city so I have no way to test them out. Going on a 67 Camaro BTW:

Front: 18x8 with 5 inch backspacing, 215/45-18
Rear: 18x8 with 5 inch backspacing, 245/40-18

The only thing I am worried about is the 5 inch BS up front, but with the tire being a 215, would it fit?

Re: Wheel size emergency

I wouldn't worry about the backspacing, 4.5~5" isn't usually a problem with up to a 225~235.
But, that 'extra inch' of width could be troublesome ...
Would need to check, but the smaller tire size (215) will probably allow it to work.
Give a call to a local tire shop (custom place) and run the size by them, they may have some good input.
The only other suggestion is - if they are a 'screamin deal', then buy them and see - you can probably resell without a loss ...

Re: Wheel size emergency

They sold before I made it there. The seller was supposed to hold them for me until I was off work, but "someone showed up wtih cash". Yes, they were a screamin deal- 18 Boyd Coddingtons with tires for $400!
