FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

Hello to everyone! New member here!

I'm very interested in buying a set of FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims and tires for my 68 camaro.

I've been reading the different posts but I just wanted to run this by the members here:

Front
Rims = 17 X 8 5x4.75 bolt pattern....not sure what backspacing to go with? (I'm currently converting from drums to discs with standard spindles (no drop)
Tires = 235/45/17

Rear
Rims = 17 X 9.5 5x4.75 bolt pattern..not sure what backspacing to go with? (Keeping stock drum brakes)
Tires = 275/40/17

I don't want to rub or stick out past wheel opening with this setup?

Thanks in advance,
John

Go with 18" you won't regret it. Give Jon at DriversInc a call... I run the Legends - great looking wheels...at least that's what everyone tells me.

Re: FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

I just ordered 18x7 4.25 backspacing for the front and 18x8 4.5 backspacing for the rear. My front disks offset the wheels outward by 0.5 inches and I have stock drums in the back. After lots of measuring these wheels should work well for me and still work when and if I upgrade to rear disks. I should get the wheels in tomorrow or the next day so I'll post pictures.

The reason I didn't go with a 18x9 rear wheel is because it would be getting too close to the fender if I upgraded to rear disks that offset the wheels out further.

Nothing like waiting for the UPS man to drop off a new set of rims. That's still my favorite thing to wait on... Good choice!

After lots of searching, it was your car that made up my mind. Very nice ride.

Re: FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

IMO as well as many compliments I've gotten on these rims, they really are good looking rims. I also searched and searched here, including putting together a collage of TC wheels. I really considered the TTII as they are a good looking rim but everyone has them and this is why I chose the Legends. Can't wait to see pictures...

What BackSpacing did you go with? After you had a chance to install and drive a few miles, I would be interested to hear how the fronts are fitting.

Re: FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

I got mine today and they fit well. I'm going to get some rubbing on the front, but my springs are old, soft and saggy. I've got some 1" drop GW springs coming (hopefully tomorrow) and we'll see if the stiffer springs can stop the rubbing. I'll post some pics tomorrow, I took some today but they didn't come out well because it was too dark.

It totally changes how the car looks. I was debating whether or not to get them, and was considering just sticking with rally wheels, but OMG I'm SO glad I did.

Re: FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

I think I'm going to go with the Legends as well. I'm going to stick with 17"s though.
My car had 295/50/15s on it when I got it...like the really wide stance in the rear. I've changed the suspension from slapper bars to CalTracs, so not sure how wide I can go back there now, but it's a puzzle I REALLY look forward to solving Can't wait to get to that stage.

Re: FOOSE Legend 17 inch rims

Jon,
When I look at Foose rims on your website, it looks like they're 18" and up?
