the bolt pattern and backspacing are quite wrong.

thats ok. Get an adapter to convert wheel spacing and get it in the thickness that you need for the correct offset.

That doesn't correct the bolt pattern, but there has to be a company out there that makes a 5-spoke wheel with similar characteristics as the 5th Gen that you could order with the correct bolt pattern and backspacing. Personally I don't think a wheel that big would look right on a first gen.

yes it does. one side of the adapter has one bolt pattern, and the other side of the adapter has the other bolt pattern. Then you order the thickness you need to have the wheel centered properly in the wheel well. I found a good deal on a set of boyd coddington wheels that were like new but they were a ford bolt pattern and the offset was too deep. I put an adapter on it and they look perfect.

that's true. In any event I'm not a fan of big offset wheels on old cars. there are exceptions, of course.

Early Camaro's need a deeper lip to match the agressive lines of the car, newer no-lip modern wheels don't do it for me...

I know that I've seen a pict of a first gen with those wheels either here or at CRG. But Muscle Car John is right. They just dont look right.
