Going From Old School To....Well, Older School...

After Having my 69 Documented ( as far as options) by GM Canada 2 years ago....one of the options she came with were the base steel wheels w/ the hub caps...so, I had to have them (who knew back then when we tossed these wheels away.....I could not find originals...not any i could afford anyway....so, mid 80's GM steel wheels....close enough).

Old School( these have been on since the 80's)

Transforming to older school

Older School Look Complete

What do you all think....looks ok?

Re: Going From Old School To....Well, Older School...

Yeah I like the colour match to the car...makes them look as if part of the car...

like the white lettering to...I have always thiought it is a shame the letters dont stay in the same place front and back...
I have my orginal hubs storedway but only 3 of the orginal hub caps...
Steel wheels with a bit of... meduim to hard cornering have a tendancy to flip the hub caps off up front...
I was running 205 x 60x 14 rubber...little bit unnerving after 235s the car felt as if it wobbled down the road lol....and made the rear very loose.

My Spelling is not incorrect...it is creative

Hey Lee car looks awesome. Just curious what options the car has. What's under the hood? What interior?

Thanks guys....I thought the 14's would be a little anemic but it doesn't look bad at all w/ 70 series.....69z28freak, the car has all its original drivetrain, its an LM1 350 ordered w/ dual exhaust, auto w/ console, dealer installed Spoilers (factory rear antenna car), its originally a frost Green car w/ the D90 stripe and dark green interior but I changed it out to black many many years ago (again, another stupid thing we did w/out thinking)....its been in the family for over 30 years.....I plan to take a ride to the original selling dealer next week and take photos w/ her parked out front....they are excited about the car comming back after 40 years....I think they want to take some photos side by side w/ a new camaro...it will be cool to add to the scrap book....dealer may have a surprise for me too ( original paper work or maybe the dealer emblem they used in 69'....that would be way cool to have that on the car)...I cant believe the compliments I am getting when I took her out for a spin.....who would have thought that hub caps would be cool

That sounds awesome Lee. I hope the dealer makes your day. What part of town are you in? Where was it sold new? I love Canadian Car stories.

Thanks!....the colour is Seafoam Green....I believe it was a 60's or early 70's Corvette colour.....I can;t remember....this car was painted back in 85'

69z28freak, I'm in Toronto near the Toronto Airport....the Car was sold new in Whitby Ont., my Brother in law owned it before me and he told me it was a US car so it never dawned on me to have it checked by GM Canada......when I did I got a big surprise that it was in fact a Canadian sold car!! I am slowly bringing her back to her original factory condition....now if I could only afford to have her painted the original Frost Green......its crazy what shops want to paint these cars....its like you mention 69 Camaro and few zeros' get automatically added
