Can anyone calculate rpm with 275/40R17's for me?

I am running about 2600-2700 rpm right now with a 27 in tall (255/60R15) tire at cruising speed (70mph or so) with a 700R4 with a lockup stall converter... I am wondering what my cruise speed would be with this shorter tire, also maybe with a 255/45/17? Thanks for everyone's help!

No change really..maybe up to 500 w/ OD ??

275/45/17 = 26.75" tall
274/40/17 = 25.5" tall
255/60/15 = 27" tall

Re: Can anyone calculate rpm with 275/40R17's for me?

Wow... thanks Doug... It only looks like with my 3.90's it should only change about 200 rpm.. i could live with that. If I change to 3.55's that I have it would change it to about 200 rpms as well.. I could add the 3.55's and 275/40/17's and get just about the same result as I have now...

I am running 275/40/17 with 3:73's and a 4l60e (same ratio as a 700r4).

60 MPH- 2000 RPM
70 MPH- 2250 RPM
80 MPH- 2500 RPM

Here's a site I like to use when considering the effects of tire / gear changes

Wow, thats the same as a TH350 with 4.56 gears! Very aggressive. Can you get any traction in first?
