Will 255x60 with 4.5" bs fit

My '68 Camaro came with TqThrust D's 15x7 with 3.75" bs, 225x60's all four corners. I installed Hotchkis 1 1/2" drop leafs and CCP coils 1 1/2" drop. I 'm thinking about buying for the rear only: Tq Thrust D 15x8's with 4.5" bs, with 255x60's. Anyone think there will be a clearance issue with the new rear wheels and tires. I may use 1" lowering blocks in the rear if the stance has too much of a rake. Pix are posted in my User CP Album Thanks.

Re: Will 255x60 with 4.5" bs fit

i have the hotchkis TVSwith a 1/2 lowering block, 255-60-15bfg on 15x8 vintage wheel works v-45 rims 3 7/8 backspace on the rear and 15x7 with 215-65-15bfg on the front with same b.s. are you sure the a.r.rims have a 3 3/4 b.s.? i thought they were 3 1/4"b.s.?anyway my tires do rub if i have a rear passenger, luggage or hit frostheaves on the hiway but it isnt so bad i want to change it or anything, around town its good . i have a couple pics in my album.4 1/2 bs would possibly eliminate the rubbing as there is more room on the inside of wheel with my combo

[QUOTE=kamloops67;1476972]i have the hotchkis TVSwith a 1/2 lowering block, 255-60-15bfg on 15x8 vintage wheel works v-45 rims 3 7/8 backspace on the rear and 15x7 with 215-65-15bfg on the front with same b.s. are you sure the a.r.rims have a 3 3/4 b.s.? i thought they were 3 1/4"b.s.?

Kamloops67: Summit Racing sells Amer Racing 15x8's with 4.5" of backspace. Part # ARE-10558061 for $220.99 each. These wheels are not in the catalog but are listed on their web site. I have always liked the look of TQ D's and got excited when Summit advertised them with a 4.5" bs. I think the 255 x 60 x 15 BF's will fit on the rear. Not positive tho. With mail order it would be a $632.00 crap shoot for two. I have searched TC.com to see if anyone has them. None posted. The only TQ D's offered in the past close to this size are 8 1/2" x 15 with only 3.75" bs (these are a lot cheaper $181.95 each). I think with the staggered widths & increased back spacing on the rear they might pass muster.

Re: Will 255x60 with 4.5" bs fit

you should be ok, worst case a 3/16 or 1/4" spacer-- this is 255/60/15 w/4.25bs, but I recall running drag tires on 4.5bs...
