Firehawk 'Indy 500' vs TA vs MT

I am looking for some tire ideas for my 68 Rallye Green Vert.

The thought this week will be my 15" Monte Rally Wheels and some sorta sane tires, cruiser...maybe a front swaybar and tall ball joint upgrade over the winter with some better shocks. On a 14" you'd want 70s, thinking 15" wheels you'd go 225/60? 235/60? to keep the height in check.

I saw the thread with the Indy Pace Car and 14s with the Firehawks...looked good IMHO. There was a thread that I cannot find, someone singing the praises of the Firehawks compared to his previous set or sets of TA Radials. Add to this the newer Mickey Thompson RWL radials that are out. And of course the ol TAs have kinda been the 'everybody' tire since the days of the Halter Top, survived through the mullet era, and are still popular.

Looking for ideas on tire sizes (non staggered) and any testimonials on why one brand or the other.
edit: lotta good tire size info on this thread, thanks...maybe 235/60 and 245/60 stagger

Here is the 68 Vert a few weeks back with my Elky's front Welds and 215/65/15s. Looks pretty fair but I'll not go hitting the corners hard with Welds, thank you very much! Please ignore the 'wanna-be' hockey stick I bought the car with.

here it is with some aftermarket 14" dual pattern Rallys, trim rings from hell, and ugly 75 series blackwalls. You sure can tell I have real GM caps on there, no way do the plastic jobs reflect like that

boredom central for sure! Feels like I am sitting on the pavement.

Thanks in advance for your comments

I have experience that the indy firehawks were a much much better performing tire (better traction and cornering) than the Radial TA's; although the TA's get the nod in the looks department.

Well, most people are here to read and not write.
The search function also works well and the Firehawks have been discussed many times.

I have them on my car, switched from BFG's and am happy.

ketbo; yes M21man is straight off my birth certificate LOL. I was destined to drive a muncie.

hey stay away from coopers; they are what i have on my camaro now and are very cheap tires. they dont compare to the indy firehawks at all.
