Tire Rotation

The local tire shop put 4 new winter tires on my rims. This is for my daily BMW dirver. The tires have a arrow that states they should be mounted on the rims according to the rotation of the tires when mounted. Two tires were mounted improperly. Should I be concerned? Or take the two back and have them mounted IAW the rotation arrow?

Re: Tire Rotation

In some tyres, the intended direction of rotation is evidenced by the groove design, channeling water out as the tyre rotates.

But whether this is optically evident or not, manufacturer's recommendations should be taken as gospel. They were put there for a reason, apparent or not.

#1: 67 RS ragtop, Yellow, 230, 3 speed manual, manual everything, sold long ago, sorely missed
#2: 67 ragtop, White, 327/210/PG, 12 bolt posi, front discs, power all, tinted glass, metric dashb'd, tilt wheel, remote mirror, custom interior, clock

I tend to agree. If the manufacturer says they should be mounted a certain direction, I'd get them changed. Last thing you need at AutoBahn speeds is tire trouble.... if you know what I mean.

Experience...... It's what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
