Getting ready to to buy new tires ,car is stock 67 Camaro SS with drum brakes, wheels are 14 X 6 XB coded rally wheels.I know D-70 14" Redline was factory size tires on 67's ,68 had F- 70's which size tire would look the best on this 67 RS/SS ,and could there be rubbing issues with the F 70 and these rims? Thanks for your imput

Re: 67 Camaro RS /SS

I don't know if this will help but, I have a 67 RS/SS convertable. I have new front springs (rated for a big block), and new rearsprings. The rears are multileafs though with a multileaf rearend, so it's in there right. It's just that it's probably not what you have under your car. I have 15"x 7" ralleys off a 71 MontiCarlo . I have F70-15" Firestone redlines on there and there don't rub...I won't say at all. I see a hint of a scuff on the top of the front inner fender well, but I have never felt it grab. It has to be under an extream circumstance, like a big dip at speed. I'm going back to a monoleaf set up on the rear, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the rear does'nt rub when I'm done. lol I think you could easily put an "F" size 14'' tire on your car. Especially if the suspension is in good shape.

Re: 67 Camaro RS /SS

Thanks for your input. I think that I will try the F70x14s. My main concern is that the XB coded rally wheels are offset to the inside of the car 1/4" farther than the original FC coded stock black rims. This may cause the tires to rub the frame rail at steering lock and inner wheel housings when the suspension is in a bind.
Again, thanks for the reply, Hoskens

Re: 67 Camaro RS /SS

I don't think you will have much trouble with a 6 inch wide rim.
