Help! Disk Brake wont fit my wheels

I know there are about 37,000 Threads about wheel sizing and what fits what, but I have not found one that lines up directly with my issue, Im sure its there but I have not found it.

I did a 4 wheel disk brake conversion from "The right stuff" along with the 2" suspension drop from DSE, I have 15" rally wheels which fit over the front disk brakes, but wont fit over the rear calipers/mounting bracket. I can get the rim to sit on the lug studs but it will not seat all the way, so that makes me think its not hitting by a huge amount. What size Rims do I need to go with to get the proper clearance, should I go with larger Rally wheels, TT2 or.......

Measuring from the center of the wheel hub to the Caliper bracket it looks to be 7 1/4 Minimum clearance, I am trying to get the car back on the road for memorial weekend any help would be great!!!

can you space the wheels outward? if they have interference toward the end of mount, maybe the right wheel spacer will let you tighten without hitting the caliper? depends if you have room for wheel spacers.

maybe a little grinding on the calipers housing will let you clear?

Jess you know The Right Stuff has a great customer service, give them a call. I am sure they have heard everything about the dish brake conversion.

Are the rotors flush against the axle? You may need to enlarge the center hole on the rotor or turn down the ridge on the axle flange.
Originally I had 15x7 rallys and they fit fine, but I did have to turn down the axle flange and use longer studs.

They are flush against the Axle, however I measured the tire and came up with 15" however when I actually looked at the tire its an R14..... Im gonig to try and find a 15" rally wheel tomorrow and try that on.

Re: Help! Disk Brake wont fit my wheels

I had problems with my 69 when I converted to front disc brakes and drop spindles...15 inch wheels should clear, doubt if 14's will. j

Re: Help! Disk Brake wont fit my wheels

If its close how about grinding some material off of the caliper. They are pretty thick. I know someone that swapped 2004 Corvette brakes onto a 66 GTO with 17 inch wheels and he had to shave off some of the cooling fins on the caliper but it worked.
