67 vert w hotchkiss system, rims/tires?

hi TC members. I just finished putting on the hotchkiss system. Wow, what a difference, its going to take getting used to thats for sure. I now need to buy some new rims and tires. Presently, i have 14" ralleys, with 60r234 on the rear and 60r225 on the front. I am thinking of 15x7, 60r245 on the rear and 14x6, 65 or 70r215 on the front. Can anyone offer advice on this or what you have that you're happy with?

If you are going to use rallys, the most popular combo is:

Rear: 15x8 with 4.5 to 4.75 backspace, 245 or 255/60/15

Front: 15x7 with 4"? (not sure) backspace and 225/60/15

Since you're not going with big wheels nor trying to stuff the biggest possible tire, I suggest using the same setup front and rear so you can rotate them. On my 69, 235/60's fit easily front and rear.

I have 15x7 rallys with 245/60 all the way around. The back is fine but the front is tight, needs to be 235 or 225 with the TVS kit

I am very happy with this setup... I also have a 67 vert but I have standard drum brakes all around.
- Wheels: 15X7 with 4" bs up front, 15X8 with 4.5" bs in the back
- Tires: 215/65/R15 up front, 245/60/R15 in the back

Hotchkis springs front and rear, 15x7 with 3.76 BS all the way around. 225/60's in front, 245/60's in rear.

gents, thanks for the replies. RJ, your vert looks sweet. Are you happy that your lowered it over 2"on the front...if you had to do it over again, would you? Vince, I went to your page and saw your car...our stories are very much the same. Mine was Sierra Fawn, RSSS 350, but changed it to red in 2001. Are you also using the Hotchkiss

Re: 67 vert w hotchkiss system, rims/tires?

Frank, I'm real happy with the ride height. I drive this car often around town, highway, even commute to work 100+ miles at times and there are only a few places where I scrape bottom. I would do the same setup again as I like how it turned out and gave me the retro 60's look I wanted.
