Spare Tire 68 Camaro

Hi, I feel silly with this question, but I have hit a stump- What is the size of the spare for a 68 camaro? I have not had a spare nor thought about it until the thought of a blow out on the turnpike would be a bmmer. I have 15x7 front and rear, could I use a run flat or would it be best with the 15 rims. THe GM show is in Carlisle and I can walk there to get something based on what you suggest out there. Thanks.

Re: Spare Tire 68 Camaro

I dont carry a spare unless Im on a trip..
What is very important is the spare is the same diam as the rear wheels...
otherwise u could stuff the diff hypod gears.
I have an old steel rim..one of the orginal rims, and fitted a 2nd hand tyre as skinny as possoble to match the rear tyre diameter.

I use a spacesaver, which I have never used (fingers crossed!). I will prob rely on AAA if the need ever arises.

Thanks, I guess I wasn't that far off, I figured AAA would come to the rescue. I will stage and old rim with a budget tire for the linger trips.

Re: Spare Tire 68 Camaro

I did carry one of those flat tyre in a can things.....had to use it once with a flat on the trailer....hopless on my wheel barrow thu.
Now I carry this bottle of green stuff, fixed my wheel barrow, and used it once on my sons car....and had a slow leak in the front left of the camaro....had to top it up every 3 or 4 weeks....fixed that, used stuff all.
And a punture on my sons car....
These things are meant to be temp emergency fixes...not perminent...
My wheel barrow is still ok aftera couple yrs, the camaro front stays up and as sons do, dont take any notice off dads, is still runing around on the tyre to.
