Exclamation Which is closer to factory on these two trim rings?

Classic Ind has two trim rings that fit their 15 inch wheels. Which one is closer to what the factory offered for a 67 model...

This will get you the post safety recall clip design for 67 through 69 trim rings:
http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-r...1967-1969.html

This will get you original recalled clip design:
http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-r...1967-1969.html

For safety I would go for the first link for the post recall design (I have 9 of these) unless you only use the originals only at shows or you like hunting them down at intersections and drainage swale's. And look at the price. First link is for set, second is the price for a single ring. OUCH says my wallet.

Re: Which is closer to factory on these two trim rings?

Yeah I scratch my head sometimes as folks obsess over trim rings. Most of the cheap imports look like crap after a season or two but then again for what they paid for the set, just throw them in the recycle bin and buy a new set.

But on the other hand I can't see paying 250 bucks or more a piece for one brand new ring that was built using clips that were deemed a very poor design and that the federal government had to force GM to redesign. This action was taken for the general safety of others since the old style ring clips had a bad habit of popping off in turns and hitting pedestrians, causing accidents as oncoming traffic swerved to avoid the speeding ring heading toward them, or drivers being killed by oncoming traffic as the retrieved their rings on the side of the road.

Hope this helps you figure out what your are going to purchase.

Thanks for the replies guys.... I think I will be ok as long as I get the Stainless ones... I can see the cheap imported chrome ones turning to junk in a year, especially here in FL.

Also, I even saw some vendors selling PLASTIC center caps....

You really gotta search for what you want nowadays....
