Another Tire Size Thread

Hey Guys,

I have searched this site and the Internet, but I am finding conflicting information. I have 15X7 YH rally's that I am putting on my 69 and I want to find the best tire size for performance without rubbing. Some threads say 235/60/15 and others say those will rub, so I should go with 225/60/15 or 215/65/15.

What do you guys think is the best size tire for all four corners on the YH 15X7 wheels for performance and looks?

Take Care,
Ben

Re: Another Tire Size Thread

Mine are FW code which have the same 4.25" backspace as your wheels.

I'm running 225/60 on the front, 245/60 rear with no rubbing. 215/65 fronts work fine as well. 235/60 fronts might work as well but I didn't want to take any chances.

If I was going to run the same size on all 4 corners, I'd go with the 215/65-15's. They are closer in height/width to the original E70-15 tires.

Your YH wheels and 235/60's will fit without rubbing if you have the right alignment and good condition suspension including sub-frame bushings.

Re: Another Tire Size Thread

Thanks for the information guys. I think I am going to go with the 225/60/15s on all four so that I can rotate them out periodically.

How do you think 225/65/15s would work? Would they look funny?

Re: Another Tire Size Thread

I have the 215/65/15 up front and 245/60/15 in back. I did have 235/60/15 up front but they rubbed on turns and just didn't look right so I switched to the 215/65/15.
