20 inch wheels all around? 1967 rs camaro

Hey everyone, im new to this site, and i was wondering if yall could help me out, im in the process of restoring my 67 rs camaro, i have some 20x8, front and 20x9 rear rims that came off of a bmw that i had, i wanted to try and put them on, would they fit, the tires are 245/25/20 front, and 285/30/20 rear. would i need to mod the car at all to put them on, would the front or rear rub?
i know that i need to put hubcentric rings on to center the rims and everything, but as far as the fit, would it work?

There's a good chance that they would both rub. 245's will fit in the front if the backspacing is perfect. 285's in the rear is going to be very tight. I'm assuming the car will be lowered? That will make it even tighter.

I run 245/40/18's and 275/40/18's and there's no extra room that I can see.

If you already have the tires and rims, just mount them up, then you will know for sure.

BMW has the same bolt pattern as a first gen??

There will be an insane amount of modification to the suspension and wheel wells to make 20" wheels look right on a 67 in my opinion.

I agree with Brent, if you have them, put them on and see how it works out.

Alix your 245/25-20 is about an inch shorter than Brent's 245/40-18 and has the same section width. The 285/30-20 is 1/2" wider section width and 1/10" taller than Brent's 275/40-18 and is where I think you will have problems if your wheels actually bolt up.

Re: 20 inch wheels all around? 1967 rs camaro

cool thanks
ya i have em and everything, i think ill probably just put em on, and ya bmw and the first gen camaro have the same bolt pattern, they are both 5x120. the camaros run 5x120.7 but the difference is almost non existant. and ya i would probably lower it about an inch or so to get it looking right, but thanks, i will try it and see what happens

Re: 20 inch wheels all around? 1967 rs camaro

245 up front may work if the backspacing is perfect. 285 in the back will more than likely rub. With a 25 series (61mm sidewall) tire up front and a 30 series (86mm) tire in the back your 67 is going to feel like a chuckwagon! IMPO, 20's with almost a non existent sidewall on a 1st gen camaro do not look good. Sell your 20's and get you some 18's instead.

Your Camaro looks great. I want to see the wheels on it.

Re: 20 inch wheels all around? 1967 rs camaro

Wheel lug difference seems small but I would NOT run BMW wheels on your camaro. It will put lots of stress on the wheel studs. Do NOT do this --> it could cause big problems, I know it seems "close enough" but its not.

Camaro looks nice. Save your money for the correct wheel and tire combo and you will be money ahead. Read here and the pro-touring site about fit and sizes.
