Wheel backspace and track width

Hi

I am going with a CPP big brake kit.
I have right now on my 68 camaro a X11 disc set up front and rear drums.

How do you think my track width will be affected?

MattsClassic Bowtie told me it doesn't change offset front and it will give a 3/8" offset outward rear.

But I doubt and want to make sure as I need to buy new wheels.
Wheels would be 8Jx17 with 4 3/4 BSP front and 9.5JX17 with 5 1/2 BSP rear.

Please tell me from you experience with that brake kit and affected track width.

Re: Wheel backspace and track width

I put this brake system on my '69 about 3 years ago. I had stock front discs and rear drums. I can confirm that the front width did not change. On the rear, the disc was about 1/4" wider than the drum.

Marc - I assume you are talking about the CPP 13" front kit. Call CPP because right on their web site they say "Note: Original track width may vary depending on application."

I don't know what you mean by "X11 disc set" RPO X11 has nothing to do with brakes. Are you just saying '69 style front discs? Anyway check with the manufacture for a solid answer!

Re: Wheel backspace and track width

Yes I have 69 style disc brakes on my 68 with one piston calipers. I thought they are called.. X2 then.
Yes I have it over the CPP 13" brake kit.
Thanks for your answer I feel confidend about my wheel choice now that I read from your experience. Also Driverz inc told me it should be the right wheel choice.

I hope the brake kit will be solid and good quality

Regards!
