Lug nut issue

Was putting on my new wheels today and got to the last one, which is a uni lug of course and I couldn't get the lug nut on. Took it off and looked the stud and one of the threads was slightly damaged, but enough to stop the lug nut. How should I handle this? I Know an Impact wrench would get it on no problem.

Re: Lug nut issue

Maybe get a tap and die set and run the correct die over it. It should clean up the threads. If not, replace the stud.

Yes, run a tap through it to clean it up or install a new one.... nothing worse the gulled threads and rounded off nuts when working on you car.

Re: Lug nut issue

A thread file will clean up the threads on a stud.
