Torque Thrust II's

I have been jumping through hoops trying to get my rear wheels. I have ordered tires and wheels, rear wheels had 7" of backspacing, sent them back. Discount said they could get my rear wheels 17 x 9.5 with 5.5 backspacing for a certain price. Now they are telling me I have to have those wheels special made for a more expensive price. Where did you, that have those wheel get them?

Re: Torque Thrust II's

They don't list that in their catalog so it must be a custom built wheel. I would try to find a standard size that will work to reduce wait time, headaches and $$.

Re: Torque Thrust II's

I did mine through discount, if you get a good sales guy he will call their supplier (wheel pros) and check availability. I bought that exact wheel in mid November and wheel pros had them in stock, I had them in 4 days. Also, my rear end was offset by 1/2" (think they all are), so I went with 5" bs on one side and 5.5" on the other. I got 285/40/17 on the rear no rubbing car is lowered 2.5" with the wheel lips trimmed even with the chrome on the lip.

Good luck,

Scott

Re: Torque Thrust II's

Your are correct they are a "custom" wheel, but I was told they begin producing them in anticipation for the spring rush.

Re: Torque Thrust II's

Thanks for the replies. I am going to keep searching and waiting. I have 600 wrapped up in two wheels that don't fit, their fault, that they won't take back. I really don't want 1200 wrapped up in two wheels. At this point, I am considering selling all four wheels, and trying to go with a different style. IDK...

I bought mine at Summit Racing but it's been awhile. They are a custom wheel but at the time Summit had them in stock anyway. Might give them a try.

Yes....might bother some. But for me it was the only way they would fit and I was not willing to go down to 8". Besides if I didn't tell you 99.99999% of people ..would never notice they are different offsets, we are after all talking about 1/2". I have one "finger" gap on the inside and out side.

Re: Torque Thrust II's

Sometimes it can be difficult getting AR wheels with certain backspacing. The more standard backspacing is going to be easier to get.

We are an American Racing dealer as well as a dealer for many other wheels. Let us know if we can help you guys out!

Re: Torque Thrust II's

To have 2 custom made torq thrust 2's, would be $317.95 each + $75 for shipping. THey do have "stocked" sizes and backspaces, which you can check out on our site. The 5.5" BS on a 9.5" wheel however, is custom.
