Wheel Studs

Hi Guys,

I'm in desperate need of a set of new wheel studs, Summit racing sells them much cheaper than rick's or classic Indu. ... I know they're 7/16 20 but do you know the Knurl size to fit stock rear drums and front discs ?

Also is it a good idea to change to a metric thread for convenience in the future instead of the stock thread ?

thanks in advance

Re: Wheel Studs

In the USA we have been going metric since the mid 1970's and not ever completed the conversion and probably won't. Being in Egypt it might be an advantage if the metric system is used.

The studs are pressed into the hubs and axles and should not be an issue with drums and rotors.

Thanks Dennis for your reply.
Yes it seems that I will go metric then, my other two camaros are metric also (78 and 94) but do you know the knurl size that would fit a 69 ?

Dorman part # 610186 is listed as 7/16-20 with a .472" knurl dia. which is 1 1/2" long for a '69 Camaro, Rock Auto www.rockauto.com has them for $.96 ea.

Re: Wheel Studs

On stock front disc brakes the stud presses into the rotor. The rear drums, the stud presses into the axle flange.
