17/18 staggered wheels and tires size help

Hey guys,
67 SS/RS multi leaf all stock. Front is sitting high due to new springs so having them cut once I get wheels.
So I want 17's front and 18x9 or 9.5's in the rear. What are some good tire sizes? I want the rear wheels as wide as I can get and about and inch or two taller that the fronts.

Thanks!

Re: 17/18 staggered wheels and tires size help

If you go to the Tire Rack site and look at "specs" you will get all the data you need. Make sure you check your backspace. I put 275-40-17's on the back and 255-50-16's on the front as I wanted the same size sidwall on both the front and back. I did a good amount of measuring to get the right tire. Now I have to tell you this was on my c-10 69, but the same process I went through with my Camaro. I have smaller diameter wheels than what you are doing as I don't care for the rubber band tire look on these classics. I have kept the same wheel diameter on the Camaros, 15's, but stagger the tire size. Good luck on what ever you decide.

Pete, your car looks extremely aggressive, love it. Junk yard dogs are still my favorite wheel on first gens.

The only Mustang I'd ever own is a Fender.
