Buying new shoes for my lady!

I have a 68 Camaro that is a tribute Z28. I am buying new BFG tires for it, 255-60-15s rear and 235 60 15s front. I am also putting the Daytona tire from my Camaro on a 67 FB vert I am almost finished with.
My question is are you guys putting the white letters out or going black wall?
Both will have rally wheels.
Thanks

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

I always prefer white lettering Out.
With those wheels it'll look good, but the decision depends a lot on the type of wheels the tires are on.

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

Hey Eldon - look through the sticky threads at the top of this forum, lots of pictures by year... My personal preference is black side out on most but for some reason I really like the white letters showing when mounted on vintage aftermarket wheels.

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

I looked at the sticky at the top of the page and most that I saw was black out.
It is a hard one to decide. I have white out now and I like it but thought maybe I would change. The BFGs lettering are not as big as mine now so maybe white out......??????
I don't know.
I have a week to make my mind up.
Thanks

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

Check out the one and only pic in my album on this site. Only difference is that I have 225's up front, and of course they are 15" Rocket Fuel wheels.

I've got a better pic if you would like to see it.

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

stouchton,
Nice looking.
That brings up a second question now. I now have 255s on the rear and 235s on the front.
Are 235s up front too big? If I put 255s on the rear and 225s on the front, is that too big of a difference.
My first Z28 that I owned back in 68 when they were new, I had changed the wheels to Cragar SS wheels and Mickey Thompson tires, hows that for old school. I like the Rally wheel look I have now but wish I had some Cragars to put on for a change.

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

Thanks!

I know folks put 235's all around without issue.

I thought it might rub, and wanted the fronts to really look smaller than the rear so I've played with 215's and 225's on the front. Ended up liking the look of the 225's.

Re: Buying new shoes for my lady!

I prefer the white letters out, esp with Radial T/As and Rally Wheels. Same car, same tires, in & out.
