Re: 1969 Camaro Rally Wheels
Biggest problem with those wheels is they are NOT hubcentric.
They will tell you they are "lug centric". There really is no such thing.
Check out how snug a real GM wheel fits to the hub. When you hit a bump, the load is spread over the entire lower surface of that hub. Non hub centric wheels transfer all that load to the lugs. Well, maybe not quite all, because there is clamping pressure that absorbs some, but still, the hub should center the wheel - the way it has been forever. Even the awful split rims on my 49 Studebaker truck are hub centric. How would you like to be driving around with technology inferior to a 49 Stude?
Personally, I can't believe it is even DOT approved (but they are). FW 15x7 wheels are not quite the same offset as the original YH 15 x7 inch wheels in 69, but are so close, no one can tell with the naked eye. Less than a 1/4 inch diff. They are plentiful, and if you are not worried about a "numbers" car (guessing not, if you are considering the dual bolt pattern aftermarket wheels) then they are the best way to go. They can be bought for $50 each pretty easily. I would bet you can find some locally on Craigslist.
If you can't, let me know. I have four that I have been rolling my Camaro around on. Getting ready to put the YH wheels on, so I have no more use for them. Shipping is the worst.
