How far do the derby caps stick out on 68 Rally's?

I have 67 centers on my 1968 14x6 ralleys now. I was thinking about trying the 68 Derby caps but I don't want a ridiculous looking protrusion on my car.

Anyone have a back profile picture showing how far the stick out?

On a 6" rim they stick out a bit. A lower profile repop is available, but I've never seen them with the "Chevrolet Motor Division" logo like the originals have. I found a low profile set on ebay with GM numbers that were advertised for Nova. Asked about it here at TC and was told they weren't like that from the factory and had been cut down. Here's a pic.....

One was in poor condition, so I cut another which is the one pictured. It's on a 15 x 7 FW wheel.

Garth, do you remember how much you cut off the standard center?

I'm thinking a little over an inch. You really can't cut much more as it won't cover the existing holes in the stainless cap. Still have the remnant so I'll post the exact measurement tomorrow.......

It's 1" even. Height of the center ornament is 2" after trimming.

They really don't. I have a set of 14x6 rally's with red line tires and the derby caps are pretty much flush with the edge of the tires.
