1969 Camaro rim offset

Hi,

I have a 1969 Camaro and I am looking to get new rims for the tires I currently have on Cragar SS rims but I am not sure what the rim offset should be on the new rims with these tires. The tire sizes are as follows:

Fronts 235/60R14

Rears 255/60R15

Can someone give me a clue?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: 1969 Camaro rim offset

Hi, guessing you have 7 in in front and 8 in back. In that case backspace should be 4.25" front and 4.5" back. Or take a straight edge across the back of your current wheels and measure distance to mounting flange if you are happy with those. Hope that helps.

Joe the ideal is a positive 6 offset no matter what width wheel unless you have some major modifications under your Camaro.

A 7" wheel with 4.25" bs is +6 offset, and 8" wheel with 4.5" bs is 0 (zero) offset, 4.75" bs would be better.

Here's a reference chart.
