14 inch vs 15 inch wheels

I have a 68 RS/SS 396 and would like your opinion on wheel size. Now it has 15" American Racing on it. I would like to go back to the original style wheels but want your opinion on wheel size and why.

Well first off 14in tyres are getting hard to get , 15 in tyres are a little bit shorter for bit better cornering less Tyre roll and more Tyres to choose from.

Re: 14 inch vs 15 inch wheels

I have 14" for my COPO clone for the look. If you have aftermarket brakes it probably won't fit.

Re: 14 inch vs 15 inch wheels

Personally, I wouldn't go any smaller than a 15" wheel.
Tire selection is definitely an issue for a 14" wheel.

Re: 14 inch vs 15 inch wheels

Include me in the 15" wheel group as well. It's near impossible to get any selection in 14" tires unless you are buying reproduction tires for an original restoration. For a driver, I'd go 15's for a mostly original look.

Re: 14 inch vs 15 inch wheels

Thanks to all for the info and your opinion. I will be staying with the 15 inch wheels and tires.

Thanks
