Getting a grip

One thing I've found is that when the roads are wet, my car seems to lose traction. Mind you, I am comparing this to the only other car I drove before the Camara, which was a four cylinder with no more than 100 ponies. Now that I have more than 300, my tires seem to get away from themselves... and me.

I live in Florida and since it is the middle of summer, it downpours just about everyday. So this traction issue is concerning to me.

I've gotten suggestions that at least increasing the tire width on the rear may greatly improve this situation.

Does anyone have any experience with this or other suggestions to help with the traction?

Thank you!....

Re: Getting a grip

If it's a classic Camaro it's not even in the the top 1000 highly recommended vehicles for wet and or slippery driving surfaces.

Selecting tires designed for wet conditions will help a lot. My experience has been that wider is not better in wet conditions.

And feathering the throttle and becoming comfortable with the car, knowing what it can and cannot give you in regards to traction, is the biggest key to success. And seat time will give you that.

Rain or snow cause tires to lose grip? Who knew? Learn how to drive.
