Where to get tires

Im ready to put the tires on the car but cant seem to find any. I have the 15" rally rims front and rear, and want to go with 255/60/15 rear, and 225/60/15 Fronts. First choice was the typical BFG Radial T/A's. Tire rack is on backorder until september. When I called to see if its true, he said more like October.
Any other options or sources? Or should I go with different sizes?

Re: Where to get tires

I just used Discount Tire Direct when they had a promo. Super quick and almost 15% less than anywhere else for the same tire. Local tire guy said there price was less than $5 more than his cost. Free shipping too.

Re: Where to get tires

Thanks Garth. I see they are back-ordered there too! Shipping may be free but they are $15/tire more too so I guess it is a wash. Looks like im screwed for BFG's. Maybe i can do a different brand for the front for now.

Re: Where to get tires

I got 18" Nitto 555 tires. Guess they get a better deal on those vs. the BFG's.

Re: Where to get tires

Yeah... plus I really tortured myself with what rim size to get. In the end I wanted the 15" stock look so thats what I went with. And now I pay the price
I just found a set on ebay so looks like Im good to go!

Re: Where to get tires

Coker has the rights to produce BFG RWL, that is when the price increase came on. If you don't mind blackwalls, you will have more choices. I have 215 x 65 x and 235 x 65 x 15 Firestones on my 69. Good luck.

Re: Where to get tires

I still run 15" Ralley wheels on my Camaro as well. I noticed that problem years ago. I asked the tire salesman what size tire with the same overall diameter as the 255/60-R15 was available and kept in stock. He look at his book and said 215/70-R15 and that is what I am still using today. Look up both sizes in a BF Goodrich T/A at Summit Racing they will ship today. The 255/60 has a 26.80 diameter and the 215/70 has a 26.90 diameter.
