I currently run BFG Radial TA's on my '67

rears are 255/60/15
Fronts are 225/60/15

I was looking at possibly going to cooper Cobras--still raised white lettering, but much less expensive than the BFG's (I remember when BFG's were the wallet-friendly tire).

Anyway, Cooper does not make the cobra in 225/60/15 for the fronts...

What would a comparably sized tire be for the front?

Thanks

Keith

Re: Options

I have 235/60/15 on my car with it lowered 1.5-2". No issues. Cooper makes great tires. I think that they are "stickier" than the BFGs....

Re: Options

It looks like they make a 235/60/15 and a 215/65/15.

I'd opt for the 235 if it will fit. It would be about .4" wider than the 225, which means it will sit less than 1/4 closer to the subframe and the same distance closer to the fenders. If you have that much clearance, that's the way I'd go.

If not, the 215 should fit without any problems, but it's a little narrow for my tastes.

Re: Options

Thanks guys!!

I have read some reviews of the Coopers that say they tend to stick better than the BFG's...

I know I haven't bought tires for this car in 15 years, but when did BFG's become the more expensive alternative?
