Just got my stepson a bone stock, 68 Camaro. I want to put a set of wheels & tires on the car without making any fender/shock modifications. I have already seen several comments concerning this subject and have put together the following combination for your comments.

The car has a 327 engine with a monoleaf rear suspension. To me, the car sets a little low.

I would like to go for the "Full Wheel Well" look without any modifications (i.e. air shocks, lip rolling, etc).

Here's my thoughts - tell me what you think:

Centerline Convo Pros:
Front:
15x6 - 3 3/8" Back Space with 205/60R-15
or
15x7 - 3 3/8" Back Space with 215/60R-15

Back:
15x8.5 - 5" Back Space with 255/60R-15
or
15x8.5 - 5" Back space with 245/60R-15

================( or )======================

Weld Racing Draglite:
Front:
15x6 - 3 1/2" Back Space with 205/60R-15
or
15x6 - 3 1/2" Back Space with 215/60R-15

Back:
15x8 - 4.5" Back Space with 255/60R-15
or
15x8 - 4.5" Back space with 245/60R-15

I may have to get the wheels & tires through mail order, so I would liket to get it right the first time.

What do you guys think? Is this even an up-to-date setup for a first gen Camaro? I've been out of the business for a while.

4-4.5 b/s is the max i see on a 67/68,on the rear.as far as the rest of the combo. sounds ok....just remember, measure twice, on each side.or have a competent tire shop measure for you...once the wheel and tire are mounted, they're yours.

I have a 69 which I just bought with Draglite 15x6 front with225 70 15 and they just clear however in my opinion they look to big. In the rear I have 15x8 Draglites with 235 70 15 and they look ok, but they sometimes rub slightly. I would say your combo should clear ok. I should say mine is also a 327 with a single leaf. I do not really like the look of the draglites and would be willing to sell them or maybe trade if you have 15 inch rally wheels. My wheels are in perfect condition, not even a scratch. I think the smaller front tire you mentioned would look great

Remember to measure both sides front and rear because theres a big long post about us finding out that our cars body's have shifted or weren't installed dead-nuts on from the factory. And this definitely causes constarnation with max tire sizes.

Some cars are off .5" to 1.5" one way or the other. Mine is off about a little over one or so fingers towards the pass side. pdq67

Sounds pretty good. I like to go to a shorter fatter tire in the rear. Something like 275/50's look good on a 8 to 8.5 rim for the rear.
