Question

Has anybody installed the 16x8, 5 spoke rims with 245/50R tires from a late model onto a 69 Camaro? Back spacing would be an issue, but how about actual width? My car has a 2" drop in the front and 1.5" in the back. Thanks.

Cadmaro,

By chance, do you have the Hotchkis front and rear leaf springs installed to lower your car? The rims should work, if the rims have a 4 3/4" lug bolt pattern and no more than 4.5" bs.

Yes, I did install the complete Hotchkis suspension system. I also swapped in a Dana 60 and am running Wilwood discs front and back. The Dana is from a 71 Challenger and is about an inch or so wider on each side, so I know backspacing will be an issue there. I don't have the front clip on yet, so I have no idea if the new rotors require a different backspacing or not.

Cadmaro,

How do like the Hotchkis kit? Does it level the car nicely? I have the front springs installed and Im waiting on the leafs.

I dont know if the rims will work with a dana rear. Being that it is wider, I would say that you could run more backspacing, but dont know for sure.
