Any one know of a way to measure which rim/tire combo would fit best in the front and rear of a 68. I saw and article once on how to determine the biggest size tire and rim you can fit in a wheel well taking into consideration the backspacing. Also IM thinking of buying 16X8 American torq thrust II rims. Does anyone have these rims on there 68? whats the biggest size tire front and back I CAN FIT and what offset/backspacing? Any pictures would be great. Thanks in advance.

Ya know for the price, the Vintage Wheel works '45' is a better choise, (unless you want a polished wheel). The difference in strength is WORTH the money. They can be ordered in a 'natural', 'sand blasted' or 'polished' finish. (The sand blasted center is my favorite).

They ONLY make them for 67-68-69 F-body GM and 64-69 Ferd slostangs.

16x8x5-4 3/4 with 4 1/2" backspacing

245/45/16 front and 245-255/50/16 rear. You can run a 245/50/16 on the front....I have and it fits very well, but for some suspension alignments it will rub. I run a fair ammount of neg. camber....so no problems for me.

My car has 16's Americans on it, check out my site. They aren't the biggest that can fit though. I would say 8 with 4.5 backspacing, 255/50, 245 for front.

68 468 700R4, and here it is;
