Just sold my cragar SST's to friend and now I have nothing but jackstands...First I am trying to find out if my rear end is the right width for my '68 before I order wheels and start considering backspacing. I have some sort of later 8.5 10 bolt coded PXG72882 (2.73 posi)measuring approx 54 1/2 from back of drum to drum (just throwing a tape measure up there) am I close? My rear wheels really stuck out 245/60/14 on a wheel with 3" backspacing. I thought I should have about 4-4 1/2 inches of backspacing but if my rearend is too wide....I just don't want to order wheels and get burned. I'm thinking 15x7's in front and 15x8's in the back. Installing Stainless Disc brake conversion with 2" Drop. what size tire in the front? How big can I go in back with no rubbing? Want to use Rallye wheels.

I am pretty sure that 4 and 1/2 inches of back spacing is standard. I don't know exactly how wide the rear is supposed to be though, I would go measure but my car is at home and I am at college.
