Hey guys,

One of the wheel studs on my front disc brakes has the threads messed up, where the lugnut won't engage. Is there a way to replace the studs separately from the entire disc unit, and if so is it somethign that can be done at home or that needs a machine shop to do?

Thanks in advance,

First check by running your hand up around back of your stud to see if you can't knock it out without pulling your rotor/spindle/hub apart.

If you can then carefully knock it out using a big three pound "Ford Tool".

Then insert a new one in the hole from the back, add a stack of washers and then a little lube and install a lugnut on backwards and tighten the new stud in place the hard way by hand with a big breaker bar!!!

It should go right in... pdq67

PS,. if the stud can't be knocked out then just take her apart and then knock the sucker out and then install her and put everything back together...
