Did some measuring today and it looks like in theary that I can clear 285/40/17's on 17x10's. This would be with 5.75 bs. I plan to roll the fender lips. Anyone around hear running that size??

Dont forget about the 1/2 lip that doesn't count in the overall measurement of the rim(e.g. a 17x10 rim is actually 17x11). I've seen people use 285's on the rear but I think you'll need to stick with a 17x9.5 wheel and 5.5 BS.

Did some more checking around and it looks like 9.5's and 285's are the hot ticket. Thanks v8.

i too am planning on running 285/40/17. i just ordered some 17 by 10 inch wheels does this mean they won't fit without rubbing or won't fit at all? they have 5-3/4 inch backspacing. does any one have pics with this combo or with 9/5 inch wheels and the same tire?

68 camaro, 383 ,tremec tko , moser 12 bolt. hopefully low 12's

I think you can get it to work. Maybe need to roll the fender lips and not lower the car severly. Its better to go deeper with the bs an tune with a small spacer. I say give it a shot and let us know how it fits. There are a couple of guys on protouring.com that run that same combo.
