I have a 69 convert and I plan on ordering 17" tires&wheels Tuesday, what is the largest size I can go and what backspace do I want? My vert has a complete Hotchkis suspension which lowers 2" in front and a 11/2" in the rear. I want to go as wide as humanly possible without scrappping.
Thanks,
Mike

Rear: 275/35/17's on a 17x9.5" wheel and 5.5" BS is the max you can go pretty much. 285's may fit...but you'll probably have some rubbing.

Front 245/40/17's on a 17x8" wheel with 5" BS is the max. Again, you may be able to fit 255's but it will rub on lock to lock turns.

The 275 rear /245 front wheel package is the safest way to go with minimal rubbing and the most popular.
