Question

I have been researching 17 inch wheels very hard and keep comming up empty handed in Torq Thrust 2's they only come in 17 x 8 with 4.5 bs and 17 x 9 with a 6 bs so I'm back to forged Cragars but the come in at 17 x 8 with 4.5 bs and 17 x 9 with a 6 in backspace. Will these work and how wide of a tire can I run on the Cragar backspace?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

The rears will rub on the inside, real bad if you have drum brakes. I guess you could use a spacer but I'd avoid it myself. The TTII's come in the exact backspacing you need as a custom offset. I got the last set of four ( two 17X8" with 4.75" b.s. and two 17X9.5" with 5.5" b.s.) for just over $1100. delivered.

The fronts ideally would have 4.75"-5" b.s. but as long as the front of the car isn't really low the 4.5" b.s. should be okay. I ran 245/45's up front and 275/40's in the rear.

I'm running a Hotchkis suspension all the way so I'm down 2 up front and 11/2 in the rear will this set up still work? I looked on the Torq Thrust site and they did not show the 5.5 only 7 I beleave where did you get yours?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

They definitely offer the correct backspacings for your car; they just call them custom offsets which cost a little more. I got mine here:

$235 each huh? Then the $256 quote I got from Big-O wasn't too bad.

BTW, I think I'm going with 17x8 4-3/4" with 245/40's on all four corners.

Cool

I'm going to try 245 45's in front and 275 45's in the rear and hope she doesnt rub. I hope it will work with the front being lowered 2" and the rear 11/2". But that is the look I want.
