I know this has been discussed to death... I spent the last hour reading every post for the last year..lol, plus did a search... and came up half empty.

So.. for all you rallye wheel experts, I have a 1968 ragtop, stock height, new springs & shocks, need to buy new tires.

Currently have 215-60-15 on Monte Carlo 15 x 7 rallyes

In front, I will go with a 235-60 tires on the rims I have. That will fit.

In the back, I'd like to go with a 265-60 tire, and find a pair of used 15 x 8 rallye's to hold them.

I "think" a 265 on a 4.5" B.S. wheel will work, agreed?

Would 5" B.S. be better?

Since I'm looking at used wheels, what actually exists? I know 'vette wheeels are 4" B.S. and will rub the outer lip with a tire that big. I believe Monte Carlo rallye's are 4.5" B.S., right? Were any original 15 x 8's made with more than 4.5" B.S.?

I'd like to fill the rear wheelwells... but, I won't bend the fender lip, and I do sometimes go over big bumps with 4 people in the car, so no rubbing is allowed.

Jim,

I have the 15X7 YH wheels all around on my 68. I have 235/60/15 on all 4 corners.
