Greeetings,

Anyone out there running anything from Hankook?
They seem to be surprisingly cheap with decent UTCG(sp?) ratings.

Thoughts??

I don't have any personal experience but there is a little write up on them in the new Grassroots Motorsports and they had positive things to say about them. The company hosted a ride and drive with different vehicles with different tires and while they could not do time runs to compare, they had nothing bad to say about back to back ride performance. If I remember correctly, they are Korea's oldest tire company (if that means something). If anyone is interested I can try to post the article text.

Have them on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Have been very good tires. Excellent wet weather traction. The Jeep has a 4.0 and posi and gets it pretty good. They have good grip on full throttle starts and smoke quite nicly .

I would recomend them. I am running 275/70/15's

Yep, they've been on Korean vehicles for years. Within an hour of landing in Seoul waaaaay back when, I was sitting in a taxi and looked down at the tires on a car parked next to us. I had to do a double and triple take on the name on them.... I thought it said Hancock. I got a good laugh when I relaized it said "Hankook".

I sell a lot of Hankook tires at work.

I first discovered them on mini stock race cars at Race City Speedway in Calgary. I started putting them on customers cars almost 10 years ago & they have proven to be a decent little tire for the price.

Question

MCGOO,

Do you know where to get the high pressure, low rolling resistant tires from Brazil??

I bought a set of 12 incher's for my '87 Chevy Spring 3-banger, corn-popper and pumped them up AND the sucker would roll like a skate board!!

Heck, I only gave like $14/each for them way back when on sale and they lasted for a looooong time..
