Well, I got my wheels and tires ripped off so guess its a good time to get something different. Im not sure what size wheels and tires I can fit properly on my 81. I rolled the fenders in the back and Im dropping the front 2". Can I fit 17's? I want the most meat I can fit so it handles well on turns and launches good. WHat do some of you 2nd gen guys have out there that works well and fits good?

As for your size I am not sure about 2nd gens.

I don't know if this story is true, I can't remember where I read it to go back and verify, but it sounds like it's an ok idea to me....

There was a guy, with a Mustang if I remember the story correctly, who had his wheels stolen. Before he mounted new ones on, he took a picture of his car along with his name and number and some other identification and put that in a baggy and taped it to the inside of the new rims. Sure enough the entire car was stolen and for some reason the crooks had to get some tire work done and took it to a shop. The guy at the shop found the note and called the cops when the guys did not match the info in the note.

Again, I can't remember where I had found this so it's entirely possible it's an urban legend - but I figured I'd toss it out there...
