I haven't seen that size; the one most use is a 275/40-17

I've never seen a 275/45/17.... Tire Rack doesn't carry one in their entire stock. Go to http://www.tirerack.com/tires/SearchTires.jsp and put in 275/45/17 it comes up blank. Change the search to "40" and you get 47 different tires...

Nitto and many others make a 255/45/17... Good luck,

I looked for this size a while ago too but never found one. To my eyes the 275/40 R17 is a bit short with the 245/45R17's I have up front. If you're looking for the slightly taller tire you'd get from a 275/45R17 I think Dennis gave you a good suggestion.
FWIW I considered a 285/40 but didn't really have room in the back of my '68. I ended up using a 275/40 R 18 which gave me a slightly taller tire than a 275/40 R17.

I am looking for the added height of the 45 series tire. A friend of mine put his 275/40-18's on my 68 and the height was great(26.7") but I do not want 18's, too much rim for me. The car is lowered 2" and I am afraid a 50 series or larger will hit the outer fender lip. My rear rim size will be 17x9.5" with 5" back space. I have a Ford 9" axle that is .5" narrower each side than stock.
