depends on the rim size, and offset.

235/60/r15 is usually ok,IF your springs are not whimped.

If your using a 15x7 "vette"Montecarlo,etc rim.

If you want to go with 15x8 it gets close using the Vette type rim.
I went to a more offset rim,
with the stock rear end in my car, and, after i replaced my monoleafs, with 3 leaf,i was able to go to 255/60/r15,but Not with the stock offset.

try some old used tires, usually if you ask
your local tire person for some old tires, just
to use to see if they will rub, they will be glad to work with you,as long as they know you will be back to buy new.

I sold my Camaro, hope the current owner drives it.

67's & 68's very close if not the same. Ihave on my 68 right now 245/60/15 on 15x8 with 4.5"bs with no problems at all. Have had 275/60 on too<very close>. All depends on your springs, rear centered, and making the right choice. I used a cardboard cut out to check how big I could go. 275/60/15 = 10.5w x 28t.

I know, I know!

I cheated and used coil-overs to raise mine but I ran old-fashioned L-60/14's on the rear on 14" x 9" on Fenton Slotted Mag's with 3.5" b/s!!

They measured a modern 298-53/14!! So were by no stretch a 60 series tire!! About 11.75" section width x 26.5" tall..

I think a 4.5" b/s rim would have put them under better too, imho...

I'm running 255/60/R15 on 15x8 with 4.25" bs in the rear with a multi-leaf setup. I keep thinking I should have gone with a 275/60/R15.
