I've heard that 29"s may rub the front or rear of the wheelwell with tire growth on the big end, so be carefull with it, and do some more research on it before you buy tires
Maybe a radial would work good.
I ran 9.50-14, Firestone, Town and Country-Mud&Snow, tires on my original 14" x 6" blue painted stock steel rims and they fit fine except I had to raise my rear up about 4" b/c they would rub up top due to me packing so much crap with mw when I worked on the RR way back as a kid..
They measured about 29.5" tall and about 8" wide at the tread if I remember right??
I could just fit my index finger between the front and the back of the tire where the metal came the closest.
My speed went from right at 70mph at 3075 to 3100 rpm to 82mph b/c I got stopped one time!!!
